Thuit an Oidhche Oirnn
Donald Grant and friends revel in the joy of making music together, performing contemporary and traditional Scottish tunes.
Composer and fiddle player Donald Grant grew up immersed in traditional music in a small village in the Highlands, and it was here that he realised his passion for gathering with others to share a love of music-making.
Following memorable performances during Celtic Connections 2024 and 2025, Donald joins Scottish Ensemble musicians once again for an evening of friendship and musical storytelling. Oral tradition is at the heart(h) of this evening which features the vocals of Gaelic singer Mishca Macpherson and performances by Innes White (guitar), Tom Gibbs (piano), Euan Burton (double bass) and Calum Stewart (uilleann pipes).
They come together to perform traditional tunes, a selection of contemporary Scottish string music and Donald’s work Thuit an Oidhche Oirnn (The Night Overtook Us).
A 120- minute performance, including interval, to include…
